All Paths Lead to Roam...

Posted by Stacey Lamothe on

Some day this might expand to a coffee table book titled: All Paths Lead to Roam...         I like the outdoors and hike a lot. Weekend jaunts with hubby, friends and dogs mostly.        I seem to be drawn to paths. The design of trails, nature made, are something to behold.         On a sunny morning or caught in a thunder shower, I am mesmerized.        Dogs help us know when someone’s been here before or if they might be lurking unseen.        One of my favorite quotes: "Not...

Gluten free, vegan dog treats?

Posted by Stacey Lamothe on

I give a treat with every order. I believe in rewarding good behavior. If you buy something doggish from me I will include a treat from Della’s Pet Bakery. They are No GMO(!), gluten free, vegan and they are woof-a-lishious! And of course, they are Wilson and Benny approved!  There are two yummy flavors: Pumpkin Patch and Sweet Potato & Kale.          I like this product because they are dehydrated so the nutrients aren't cooked out of the food. They also don’t have the added fat you’d use in baking. Thatworks for me. My dog...

Fresh from the Garden...

Posted by Stacey Lamothe on

We love to plant our tomatoes early and be the first on our block to get big juicy tomatoes from our garden. Here is Farmer Jack prepping the bed for planting.           We have a little help from a Peaceful Valley Farm item called “wall-o-water” http://www.groworganic.com/wall-o-water-3-pk.html  They are like little teepees that protect your plants from frost. The sun warms the water all day and keeps the plant warm through the night.       This year we had a bumper crop of tomatoes. Shown here are my sausage tomatoes which gave me grins throughout the season. Unfortunately all...

Some days I need to play hooky!

Posted by Stacey Lamothe on

When it happens in the studio, it looks like this:       These items have been roving around my bench top for at least a year now. I gathered them together and started on a journey. Materials are: 3 river rocks I have drilled holes in, a perfectly round gray rock I found on a hike, a cool vintage cut glass button, and a knotty wood heart I found while walking my dogs at the park one morning.  I started with the Abacus pendant. The river rocks move freely but are totally contained within the window of the copper....

Puppy Raisers

Posted by Stacey Lamothe on

Ashley is a puppy raiser for Southeastern Guide Dogs (http://www.guidedogs.org). Puppy Raisers give of themselves tirelessly for more than a year so that these wonderful dogs may one day be provided to a visually impaired individual all at no charge. My heart goes out to the people like Ashley, who give of themselves and raise puppy after puppy. I met Ashley when her husband commissioned a charm bracelet with charms for each puppy raised. All puppies are special but Barkley holds a special place in her heart. Ashley asked me to create a custom Cameo of him. She wanted a...
